Verona is a small town and your start-point could be “Piazza Bra”, a square where the famous “Arena di Verona” is situated. The Verona Arena is a Roman amphitheatre, smaller than the Colosseum in Rome, built in the first century AD and still used today as a base for music concerts, operas or yearly fairs. In the past it was used for gladiator performances.
After the Arena, you can walk through Mazzini street, a famous shopping road and get to “Piazza delle Erbe” – Market Square.
One of the most visited sites in the town is, without doubt, Juliet’s house and the famous Romeo and Juliet’s balcony at Via Cappello. If a person touches the right breast of her bronze statue, that person will have good fortune and luck in love… or that is what a legend says.
